Where have our holidays gone to?  It was Holloween and now it is Christmas.. somehow Thanksgiving got lost.  As a child growing up Thanksgiving was a day to be spent with family, relatives and friends.  Giving thanks for what we had and a great meal to be shared.   For my chidren a tried to do the same, no shopping on Thanksgiving, most malls and stores were closed as it was a national holiday.  Then all the crazy stuff came around, "Black Friday" and the first day of Christmas shopping.  Then just a few years back the stores wanted to get a head start on the others and open on Thanksgiving, that was the extinction of the holiday.  Now they are starting Christmas before Holloween, well we should not stop at that lets just have Christmas all year. For me I am just going to hide out in my home, have a Thanksgiving meal, sit back and relax and enjoy the day.
